The first super 35 camera available on a consumer-grade drone.

Wednesday, October 11, 2017 DJI, the world's leader in the civilian drone and aerial imaging technology, stepped it up again with the introduction of the Zenmuse X7. This marvel of modern technology is the first consumer-grade camera to offer a 35mm sensor. Most impressive of all is the X7's DL-mount and the range of ultra-light carbon fiber interchangeable lenses.

The super 35 camera is capable of producing extremely shallow depth of field and boasts amazing low-light performance. The dynamic range of the sensor allows for high quality cinematic shots in the most challenging of lighting conditions. The X7 is capable of capturing up to 6K RAW or 5.2K Apple ProRes recording at up to 30fps. 4K shooting is available at up to 60fps.

Pricing and availability.

The X7 is available for purchase now on the manufacturer's website and will begin shipping in November. The camera body is priced at $2,699 while the lenses come in at $1,299 for the 16mm, 24mm and35mm. The 50mm 2.8 LS ASPH lens offering is $100 less at $1,199. Conveniently, DJI is bundling all 4 prime lenses for $4,299, a savings of about $800.
